At the age of 14 Vail Straka watched the largest part of her life drown in the depths of the Gulf of Sorrows. Though her determination wouldn't allow her to look back, her faith floundered with questions as her heart cocooned itself within the folds of the great purpose she herself had Seen. Fifteen years later, Vail comes face-to-face with a changing destiny connected closely to the one she had watched disappear below the gulf's black depths. A destiny that sparks her Visions once more to life.
This novel was begun as a proof to myself that I could write suspense. A personal challenge, you might say. Growing up I loved reading Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, and Perry Mason. The classic suspense movies such as Laura and Rebecca are on that 'love list' as well. And don't we, as writers, excel when we challenge ourselves? That fact caused me to accept the challenge.
I'm hoping this will be a project I work on when more of my completed novels are through the finishing/perfecting stage. Similar to September Breezes, I like this book. It's my 'novel'. Unfortunately, because of 9/11 and the increased security that came to our nation as a result, it's going to be harder to write. However, I'm not letting that interfere. Not for long, anyway.
Spitfire Professor Beth Buchanaan is left wondering who is really her enemy when she meets two men who make her question her very identity.

Vicki Modine has never been away from her home in Colorado. Now her father's new career has moved her family to a 'home' in Oregon and have asked her to find a place to fit.
Between new enemies at school and unexpected challenges to her faith, Vicki isn't so sure the blessings are worth the potholes, and she doesn't want to ask God to make things better.
Because He might do just that.

I began writing His & Hers while on a 10-day long road trip with my family about 10 years ago. It began as a type of 'What If' of my own life; a fictional possibility for myself in relation to my lovelife, my writing profession, and my future home. His & Hers was a way for me to build myself up; to view myself in a more positive light as the MC, even through the challenges that she faces. Similar to why/how I wrote my YA series back when I was a teenager, I had the same intention in mind with the characters of His & Hers. It was a fun experience, and it opened my eyes to things about my character and my opinions that I both liked and disliked. Again, God used my writing as a tool to grow up and be closer to the woman He wanted me to be.
I'd say 'mission accomplished' to that, even if this novel is never published.
Allison Campbell: New York Times bestselling author alone in the wilderness of Central Oregon.
Darin McGovern: Photographer. Fellow adventurer with a surprising secret...
Keith Tyler: Tortured hermit attempting to deal with a black past.
A decision must be made before Allison can once again be at peace with who God wants her to become.

Have you ever heard a person tell you they're working on a novel? I've only ever heard it on television; this writer working on a single novel for years and years, splitting their attention between work and art. This novel and The Myth of Reality seem to be my 'novel'.
Why do I classify them that way, with single quotes? Because I have several completed projects currently in the revision stage. It hasn't ever been a challenge for me to finish a novel... except this one. I add a scene or chapter here and there before scampering off to another project, completing that project while this one sits barely even 1/3 done.
So, I finally understand the frustration that comes with the statement, "I'm writing a novel."
This is that 'novel'.
